DuWayne is President of DuWayne Peterson Associates, a consulting firm he established in 1991, specializing in the effective management of information technology and guidance to early stage information technology companies. He is also a founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Pasadena Angels.

His career has spanned a number of the world’s largest business organizations, including Ford Motor Company, Citibank, Security Pacific Bank and Merrill Lynch. DuWayne holds degrees from UCLA and MIT and serves on a number of boards including Claremont Graduate University and MIT.

John is the Chairman of the Pasadena Angels. As an Executive in Residence in the College of Business and Economics at California State University, Los Angeles John also teaches courses in equity and fixed income financial analysis and is the Chairman of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College.

During his career as an institutional investment manager in New York and Los Angeles, managed both equity and fixed income portfolios at Citibank and Payden & Rygel. John has an undergraduate degree in economics from MIT and graduate degrees in economics from Yale University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts.

Joe is an experienced senior executive, board member and VC/Angel investor focused on the Internet/Web 2.0, digital media, wireless and IT/SaaS sectors in the US, Europe and Asia. Since 2004 Joe has been Director of the Pasadena Angels. Joe is also a General Partner with iGlobe Treasury Management Ltd., a Pan-Pacific Venture Capital firm. With offices in New Zealand, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan and the U.S., iGlobe provides seed and early stage financing for the Digital Media, Life Sciences and Cleantech sectors.

Prior to joining the Pasadena Angels, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Probandi, a security management company and was the Vice President Worldwide Sales and Marketing for NxN Software AG, a German venture-backed provider of media asset management solutions that was acquired by Avid Technology (NSDQ: AVID). Joe’s past and present board positions include Teresis Media (digital media production), Spin Disk (storage devices), EgoPlanet (Internet ), Goodwill Industries, and the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (a non-profit organization).

Joe holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from MIT. He has also been a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship for many local and international organizations and events, including Los Angeles County Technology Week, University of Southern California, Growth Capital Conference. New Zealand Venture Capital Association, Tech Coast Venture Network, MIT Enterprise Forum, and the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Investment Forum.

Jeff is the founding partner of Sheldon & Mak, Inc., a leading West Coast Intellectual Property law firm with main offices in Pasadena, California. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Loyola Law School. He has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, and a Masters of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland.

Jeff has been litigating patents and prosecuting patent applications since 1975. He has been an adjunct professor in advanced patent law at Loyola Law School. He is a frequent lecturer for the Practising Law Institute and other organizations. He is past President of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association, and past Chairman of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of California. He is also author of “How To Write A Patent Application.”

Heather is the founder of McCormick Legal Advisors. She provides general business law representation to emerging growth companies, venture capitalists, private equity firms, and other corporate clients. Ms. McCormick represents some of Los Angeles’ preeminent private equity funds, as well as the area’s upcoming technology companies. She is an experienced mergers and acquisitions attorney. Additionally, she handles securities offerings, technology transactions, corporate governance and SEC compliance, employment contracts, and general commercial agreements. Heather regularly serves as outside general counsel to technology and other emerging growth companies.

Prior to founding McCormick Legal Advisors, Heather was in-house counsel to Platinum Equity, a Los Angeles based private equity firm, where she practiced global M&A and served as outside general counsel to the technology companies in Platinum’s portfolio. She also practiced law for a number of years with Cooley Godward, LLP, a leading Silicon Valley law firm. She holds a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from Walter A. Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley.

Barry is the owner of Quest Executive. Quest specializes in executive search and consulting services for emerging growth firms. Past successes include CEO, COO, CFO, CTO, Board Members and Business Development positions; with a key specialty in helping build sales and marketing units.

Barry has experience in investment management, retirement planning, and trust services as an executive with Merrill Lynch, First Interstate Bank and Wells Fargo Bank. His experience in executive search began in 1972. The fun and satisfaction of working with and mentoring developing companies is a big part of Barry’s life.

Ananth is a physician-entrepreneur who specializes in utilization of advanced technology to solve pressing clinical problems. He co-founded Infinite Biomedical Technologies in 1997 and has been the CEO of the company since then. He was cited by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Technology Review magazine as one of the top 100 young (under 35) Innovators and Leaders in Technology in the world and by the Red Herring magazine as one of Technology Innovators Changing the World.

He received his BSE in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Duke University (at age 18, with Distinction). He received an MSE in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and his MD from the University Of Chicago Pritzker School Of Medicine. Additionally, he completed his residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Southern California, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Steve is the Vice President of Sales for LeisureLink (a Pasadena Angels portfolio company) and an angel investor, focusing on early and growth-stage ventures. His career includes executive positions at both public and private technology companies, with particular expertise in sales, marketing, and financial management.

Steve managed sales and marketing at both Digital Insight (DGIN) and Treasury Services Corporation. Digital Insight went public in 1999, and dominates the Internet Banking space. Treasury Services focused on bank profitability and risk management, and was sold to Oracle in 1997. Prior to these positions, Steve was a consultant in the banking arena. Steve holds an MBA from Claremont Graduate University, and a BS in Business Administration from Arizona State University.

Since 2001 Don has been a Managing Partner with Arcturus Capital a Pasadena-based Venture Capital firm. Prior to that he had over fifteen years of institutional investment experience at Zurich Scudder Investments, the successor to Scudder, Stevens & Clark.

His past private equity pursuits included a comprehensive research effort for Zurich Scudder assessing the opportunities in venture capital, serving as an early stage venture fund advisor and financing several early stage ventures for his own account. He became a Chartered Financial Analyst after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Auburn University and Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University.

Tom has established a reputation for providing insights into how entrepreneurs start, develop and harvest their ventures.

Acknowledged as the world’s leading authority on exit strategies for high growth enterprises, he provides real world experience with an educator’s talent for explaining complex management problems that confront entrepreneurs. Recently retired from the Richard Pratt Chair in Entrepreneurship at the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, Tom is the author of eight books for entrepreneurs covering such topics as new venture growth, raising venture capital, selling a business, acquisitions strategy and angel investing.
